Manymany events

If i could, i would invent a machine that will slow the time down. ended the 3rd week of school with this "fitness star programme", supposedly a programme that prepares year 3 students for NAFA test. Honestly, i don't think it will help us that much, maybe it will help those who doesnt do sports. No matter what i still have to go! cos it is Compulsory!

we celebrated HongGuang's birthday at TP fountain, not surprisingly at all, he was thrown into the fountain and then flour. COMBO. (video on facebook!). Anyway, gym matteress FINAlly got covered up properly! it is in red and super clean, at least for now. For those who still doesnt the location of our climbing gym. It's just beside the dance studio @ sports hall area.

Climb On! 2009 was kinda toned down as compared to last year, the 2 obvious 'plus point' is that we see more foreign friends from indonesians, thailanders, korean & the usual malaysians participating. the 'big moveable volume' or wadever u like to call that haha!

My team ' the barracudas" finished second! Indonesia team and malaysians came in 1st & 3rd respectively.
As for myself, i didnt finish 3 routes, in the end i got 2nd. 1st and 3rd position went to the indonesians.

here are some updates of my life~

1) been working on my project( touching up phase)
2) need to hand in MP next Tuesday
3) leaving for Indonesia for climbing comp coming Wednesday
4) climb at school gym on Saturdays( equal to climbing 4 times a week) but target is to climb days!
5) been eating opposite school( mon-fri) - si bei sian~
6) praying that my timetable will be friendlier than the 4semesters that we had.
7) bump into random people at most random places
8) clement finally found his______ahem* haha.
9) gonna skip first day of school cos i'm coming back on 19oct 12pm!
10) can't wait for ROCK ON 2009!

Last day of attachment at Asia Polyurethane!

finally! everything has come to an end ! ending 16weeks of tuas-ing, waking at at 6.20am and knocking off at 6pm everyday(eh.. not really- i leave at 4pm every Monday and wednesday for training) but still.... it's tuas ! i must say i have the best SIP supervisor; Mr Christopher Forbes. i don't think any other supervisor would allow me 10 days off and totaling 64 hours of leave. also best colleague- xiao wen aka foam specialist. who is also a lab & development officer, she has helped me by clearing all my dobuts related POLYURETHANE.

This also marks the beginning of my upcoming project presentation, lots of work needed to be done on designing my poster, the most difficult part of it- is to summaries 40 pages of report into one stupid A1 size poster... ahh.. let's worry about this 2 weeks later! im gonna take at least 2 weeks break and focus on my training programme which i've planned and tuned for me by the kimchi-lovers(ja ha/in). Went yishun with them last week cause they wanted to climb at a place that is quieter and lesser people than climbasia so they can do their ' warm-up period interval training' as they gonna compete in korea cup 1-2 weeks time. 10 sets of 6c+ with short rest. They are so so motivated, that makes me so psych to train! the feeling and mood is different. i hope this fire will continue to burn untill next season emds. and hellO army.

im kinda psych about competing in Asia Championship, Korea ( chun cheon). Have been training frequently on my own and frequent Climb Asia more often past 2 weeks, did intense bouldering .

My goal for asia championship is rather simple yet difficult to be achieved: top 12-14 in bouldering & top 15-16 for lead! looking at the starter list(click to see) i know it sounded kinda stupid but i just wanna set realistic goals (:
anyway! i'm gonna do my best! for myself and for those who're always there for me!

TP STUDENT AWARDS 2009!

We are the Sports Team Of The Year for 08/09 !
First and foremost! i need to thank a few people for making this possible! in random order:
Loyal committee of 08/09 ( Bee siang, Jia ming, cheryl & afiq) , TPSC adviser 08/09-Terrence Lee, Coaches- Garick & Margret, the entire sport climbing team members!! & of cos SAA for their support ($ and non-$)!

could still remember my arrival on the first day at TPSC ( TP sports climbing) there's so much thing in my head that i plan to do for the club just like what obama wants (CHANGE). At the very start i was already defeated and forced to give up some things which if i could go back in time, i would still give up... just so you know.now that i see colours ... and of cos... it wasn't easy as i expected it to be, to contribute at that time is as difficult as a black looking for a decent job in a all whites shopping mall. Instead of getting full support from e whole team, only a small grp of ppl, those who have visions are willingly to contribute ideas, time & sometimes $$ to improve the situation of the club. It's going to be a long essay if i were to talk about what was lack in the team.
Convincing ppl to believe there's still chance that sports climbing can be recognized by SAA was the hardest CRUX that I've done in my 8 years of climbing. People are often just to un-optimistic.

Anyway, I've enjoy my leadership times with BS,JM,ryl,afiq & hope that people(most) under our leadership enjoy too... and for those who don't, it's okay (: team name craved on the saa 'sports group of the year' explains all...

and bonus to me from god i recieved the Sportsman of the year, Merit for leadership & sports !

Congrats to all tpsc members & other award recipients ! For those who didnt get any individual award! your turn will come soon!

Tuas Life esp 1

Life at APU ( my company ) was quite good.. ( forget about the travelling part). Let me give you a brief summary of what i did today...

0900-1200: start on my project proposal (so basically my job in the company is to do my Major project) My supervisor have given me to work on. It's about a specific specification of foamm that a customer wants. So have to mix and match during ingredients till the spec is being met.

1200-1300: read up some news on yahoo net. followed by google. Check mail... blah blah blah...
1300-1400: lunch
1400-1500: facebook-ing
1500-1630: Lab time (: make my own foam by mixing Polyol & Isocyanate
1630-1700: some testing on the foam i made( calculate density, hardness...)
1700-1800: blogging now and wait till company bus comes...

haha, that's all.. bus arrived already! will upload photos of my foam the next time!

A rock climbing comp. 2 weeks ago.( late post)

this particular comp was a disappointment for coaches from other schs and many climbers. first it's about a team event, Problem 1: the route judge was told by the climber that she's the trump " something like a (times x2 score) special card", but when the result is out, there was no trump given to that team.
the the organizers claimed that the ' Route Judges' are not climbers so they can't be blamed! if they make any mistakes during the judging process. I mean like WTH!!! you are organising a Climbing comp. and you can tell ppl that officials cannot be blamed because they are not climbers, not experienced . It's the organizers responsibility to train the route judges!

Problem 2: Open women category 'finals' the climber(xx) was briefed by a 'Route judge' about how xx should start for the route. xx was told by the ' Route judge ' that she has to start with both hands on the starting hold. BUT it is suppose to a jump start route! meaning with no hands on it! so long as xx puts one leg on the starting hold she can start the route already!

i really hope next year is a better comp. :(

moving into the 2nd last week of cptc training at jurong island, waking up at 5am and sleeping at 11-12pm became a routine for me... most of the time during training we were out on the field ' chemical plant site'. Rain or shine we'll still go out there for our practical, thats part of 'plant life' i must say. gave us a good experience of what we'll be expecting for our work life in e near future.. as for break time- table tennis aka ping pong has played a major role in cptc students life. cptc students can graduate with two certificates -
1. Chemical Training Cert. 2. TableTennis Introduction Course Cert.

swine flu has recently hit the world and 51 people had already died from it, let's pray hard that it will not come to Singapore! let's play your part, wash your hands & cover your mouth when you sneeze!

ASIA CUP 2009 - KRABI ( 15apr - 19apr )

Depart from Singapore budget terminal around 7pm, reach phuket airport ard 9pm after that we headed down to phuket town by cab,we stayed in a hotel for a night.

it's been 3 years since we met! anyway, his wife is a singaporean climber.

was they suay-est day ever!

took a boat back ao nang, planned to hang aroung for 3 hours before we leave krabi for phuket airport. To make travelling more convinent, 7 of us ( 3 koreans,3 singaporeans, 1 philipino) decided to rent a tuk tuk. Sadly, riding less than 5 mins on the road, we crashed into a stationary 'honda civic 2.0' along the road side. DAMN!

Singaporeans left earlier as we've got a flight to catch, but when we were checking in, it was annouced to us that the flight got delayed( there was no notice, no sms from them!).

from 8.30pm flight to 11pm, from 11pm to 1am. So we waited for like 5 hours , finally got on the plane -_- , THEN, in mid air we experienced 20 mins of turbulence... my trip back is damn smooth right? arrived SIN around 3am, by the time i got home is around 4am. The worst thing is that i have to wake up at 5am for a course i'm attending at jurong island.

This trip is full of "Thrill" & "excitment" -_-

Springfield coaching today... seen improvement in the kids ! gd gd... then went back TP for physical training. (PT day)... around 15 ppl came todayy.. bad bad bad. anyway, i hope that this ' absentees problem ' will be solved once the new training plan is activated. o_O

And soon we will be handing over our post to the new committee members. Glad to see that all our hard work finally paid off ! The comm. has been through ' shitss' in getting proposal moving. Even the tiny little, often insignficant issues we fought for and standards implemented we set for TPsports climbing. Afterall, i never regret taking up this post and i love being busy (:

spent whole day supporting my beloved TP Team and Springfield kids at velocity @ novena today... haha ! meet up with Jia ming and Haopei for breakfast before heading to the competition site. weather was rather good, not too hot, rain but only lasted for awhile. Dennis qualified 1st for Novice men, Bella performed well and got 4th! finals is a new round, anything can happen in the finals! ale to both of them! The last event of the day was Team event. our very young TPSC Team Was Really That Close to champion title! Got 2nd, each and everyone of them put in heart and soul in completing the route.

guess i did well for the first routes but kinda give up on the last route ( just can't do ).

my hamstring is still aching (caused by the third route) till now...

Gravical 2009... our year one climbers did well during the finals... bella finished 3 routes

out of 4 and dennis finished 4 routes out of 4. though zamir and yao hui did not qualify

for the finals but they did their best. we can all see that. after exams everybody is like so

" nua " (soft in hokkien) . anyway tmr is the qualifiers for intermediate and open category.

just had my last paper yesterday!.ended around 1130am, this time round i felt Relieved after the papers.. like phew!.. maybe because im more confident that i can do the questions, unlike last semester worrying about having to take sub paper.

went climbasia after the papers. as usual... clique and i were all psych up to train after exams cause we totally stopped for 3 weeks to study for exams... but that bit of psych-Ness lasted for like 2 hours only? after a few routes most all of us climb like some.. crikcrik already... haha anyway, i just need 2 more trainings.. hope to at least see abit of light, so i can use it at Gravical. haha

Clique came over my house after climbing... we had steamboat and drink drink drink! preparation wasnt easily... Jiaming, haopei and I chiong to sheng siong to get ingredients for steamboat, took quite long to choose the type of fish for our seamboat... then cabbed to my house...

Dixie and llyod were incharge of getting steamed chicken from newton... When they got to my hse, it;s already 6plus. Haopei and jia ming prepare and pack everything nicely into tupperware. LOOK! guys COOK! some girls don't even know how to fry an egg. tsktsk.. LOL!

CLIMB ON 2008 was last weekend, Climb Asia brought the event to the EAST !

The competition was quite happening overall, real time scoring system enabled climbers to know the current scores and ranking...

THIS year ! I got 1st in the Open Men's enduro category, felt really happy and i have thank alot peeps!

Heyo...
its halfway through hols, nobody is working, except for HG, still waiting for hg's treat to ajisen. woohoo! this week will be quite a happening a week, training on Wednesday, driving lesson & training lesson on Thursday, shopping day on Friday, TP-NUS internal climbing competition & BBQ on Saturday & Managing climbing event @ TAKA (ngee ann city plaza) on Sunday. Everyday is packed, not a bad thing actually... at least get to meet eachother everyday.

accompanied luan go see Chinese physician at bedok. she did acupuncture, in case some of you haven't tried that before, the doctor will poke the needles into yr skin after awhile he will set a cotton wool-like thingy on fire and let it burn... emitting a funny smell.. o_O
After that went to school to climb and set routes at the high wall... then went for dinner...

Holidays at last!

semester exams ended with IBM ( biochem. & microbio.) paper. wad a way to end the exams -.-'

not really confident of scoring better grades than the previous sem. everything was quite rush, all the competition, projects and reports. ANYWAY! manage to squeeze through!

Went on a Jurong Island trip organized by the lecturers. visited some of the major plants in the island, went into their control room, labs ( x ray, nuclear, fuel cell tech). everything is automated.

3rd Nationals Schools
Sports Climbing Championship 2008(edited post*)

Today was the finals for most category, Temasek Poly. Sports climbing team did a wonderful job overall having 6 -GOLD and 2 -SLIVER medals . BOTH TP Men's & Women's Team got CHAMPION and the Men's team was clocked the fastest timing for the event!
DOUBLE HAPPINESS =D

AS for myself i got 1st for Difficulty & 2nd for Speed Event. the speed event was tight, watching my teammates climb was really nerve wecking. ANYWAY, good job guys!

some good memories of NSSCC 08, back to reality! 2 more weeks to EXAMS! gotta chiong past years paper already -.-' seeya!

rockamania ended with a lots of confetti (: beautiful ending indeed, everyone was exhausted yet delighted.no doubt that there were hiccups during the past 2 weeks but they were quite minor. overall- I'll a give a thumbs up to ALL officials that has contributed to every bits and pieces to ROCKAMANIA XIV ! thank you all sports climbing and adventure club officials!

Hi peeps! been quite some time since i blog about my life and get super emo.. HaHa! not to be surprised, I was too BUSY to blog long x 2 post. So this post I'll talk abit more! had the our first test of the semester - unit operation 1 but luckily the question wasn't that difficult as some of the questions are quite similar to the tutorials.

today's also PT (physical training) DAY. . . led the freshie to Pasir Ris park connector today.. All of

them were great (: some were quite enthusiastic while some were suffering ... have to praise

freshies like yp, nina, yn &wc for not giving up but ENDURED through the run then went

opposite to eat with hg, jm, clement and some of the freshies.

it's getting late, needa go slp alrdy if not gonna missed 9am lecture again!

OLTC orientation leaders training camp

camp was fun overall, despite under fiz leading..

DAY1 : Did lots of cheers, icebreaker games (as usual -_-)
The food at the camp was okay, heard from the seniors, the food was way better than previous years..

DAY2 : Some of our grpmates & I were late for the morning breakfast & got our group's point was deducted -_-'' SORRY adriot! Anyway, nothing that we did was new, played lots of TBG (team bonding games)

adriot oie! and yeah...

DAY3 : Thank god! and alarm CLOCKS.. I didnt wake up late!
Last segment of the day - DND night! haha.. the first part of it was rather boring..
So I took the initiative to ask peeps to gather ard the dancehall, end up being the DJ for the night.. haha really had hell lots of fun! managed to get people down to the dancefloor! =)

DAY4 : Remember.. I told you tht my grp point got deducted on the second day?
MY group Adriot ( CHEM ENG) was Overall champion LT after all 4 days! :)

Didnt really get to climb much these few days.. have been suffering from some serious pain in my broken forearm (broken since last 2 years) ... at first, I thought it grew and got bigger ,

Went fishing on Wednesday night after training, it was a last minute kinda thing, all of us went home to change and get the stuff needed for the night & poor dixie who lives in clementi got to wait around east coast for us.. when we meet him it's already 12 plus.. blur llyod doesn't even know how to fix his own rod and fishing lines ( LOL ! ) the sunrise was nice but it damn cold in the morning at the jetty.. almost died! i survived in the end (:

Slept till 12pm (thursday afternoon) planned to climb in school but when we reached the gym, it was closed! darn it! so went to ikea with jiaming , saw this cool looking lime green table lamp and bought it!

1st day at Boulderactive 08 @ plaza singapura, the climbing walls this year are not that fantastic as I excepted.. but there are 6 walls this year, meaning 6 routes! unlike the past they only had 4 routes.. that's gonna "wack" climbers real hard on their endurance level. Oh, anyway, well done! to all the novice climbers that climbed today!

yess!! the exams are finally over ! ! ! but i really have regrets in regards to the last 2 papers

( thermodynamics and applied maths). careless mistakes & misinterpret the questions sians ):

never mind ... it's over... so no point crying over spilt BEER ! (milk).. lol

can forget everything about thermodynamics, chemistry and etc... le...

quite excited when i think about the holidays ! ! !

Went out with jiaming and dixie to shop. We walked the "whole of bugis" but didnt see anything nice so we went orchard area straight away. Jm bought new air force shoes(with thick tongue) at pacific plaza . And I bought a Skinny jeans from Topman (spent over 40 mins in the shop)and Jack purcell shoe from Leftfoot.(went back again).

ASIAN INDOOR GAMES !!!

Heyo! it's been a while since my blog was updated. It has been a really x2 busy MONTH for me. the 'Month' of competitions, caused me to miss 14 days of school in total. which means i only have 15 days of sch this month. With the help of my 'Hyungs' i managed to recover the some of the impt things that was covered in the lecture tht i've missed. thx bros. Had loads of fun with climbers from KOR, JAP, HKG, CHN, KAZ, MOL, MAS, and of cos SIngapore! - the best part was the last night of Asian indoor games. Crazy man. Took lots of photographs and videos.
